Apostle Traverse

I completed the Apostle Traverse as part of a larger attempt to complete a full circumnavigation of the ridgeline encompassing Clear Creak in the Sawatch Range. The NE ridge of North Apostle might be one of my favorite climbs. It might not be. Do pumpkins fly? Yes, in Switzerland. Great sustained 3rd class climbing for the whole NE ridge proper, with some spicier stuff intermixed. Then over to Ice, then down and over and up to West Apostle, or as I and my more chill friends call him, West Homeboy, and across and down to Lake Ann Pass (shouldn’t Ann be spelled with an ‘e’, as in ‘Anne’? Otherwise it seems lie you’re just taking too long to express an article, right? Right?) Great fun traverse, easily done in a day from the Huron TH up S. fork of Clear Creek. The crux of the day from there would probably just be gaining the ridgeline to start the traverse.

Looking at the East Face of North Apostle. What a coulie, eh?
Looking up the NE ridge.
Looking down N. Apostle’s NE ridge.
Looking over to Ice from N. Apostle.
Looking over to West Homeboy, with a view down the west gully on Ice.
Looking back at the Three Apostles from west west Apostle.
The day after, looking back at the 3 homeboyz from the north.
